Simplicity is a minimalistic lifestyle that emphasises the idea that "less is more."

In traditional Islamic law, polygamy is only allowed for Muslim men to marry up to 4 wives at a time, whereas Muslim women may only marry one husband at a time. "Feminist polygamy" refers to the reform of traditional polygamist structures to incorporate feminist ideals. For example, in a polygamous relationship of one husband and multiple wives, feminist polygamy endorses (i) the formal protection for emotional, physical, and economic equality between all the husband's wives, (ii) the right of the wives to discuss the terms of the marriage without the husband's influence, and (iii) the ability of one wife to unilaterally divorce the husband.

The code of points system awards points based on the frequency and difficulty of jumps, sequences and spins performed, judged by a technical panel. This is different from the original holistic assessment of performance and routine (skill, dance etc), with an evergrowing emphasis on technical elements. This has been starkly contrasted against older, revered skaters like Yuna Kim, who have been championed for their overall performance, technique and performances for years.

Emergency legislations (or "fast-track legislations") are laws passed without going through the ordinary process of parliamentary scrutiny (e.g., bypassing or accelerating the reading and review stages usually taking up to months to complete). Emergency legislations are called for when the Government is required to implement a law at an expedited pace in response to an "emergency", such as a natural disaster. Examples of emergency legislations are the United Kingdoms Coronavirus Act 2020 (partially expired) and Malaysia's Emergency (Essential Powers) Ordinance 2021 (expired) passed in response to the SARS-COV-2 pandemic.

On 24 August 2023, Japan began releasing the treated waste water from the Fukushima nuclear disaster into the ocean. Although most radioactive elements were removed, the water still contains measurable amounts of the radioactive element titrium. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), after conducting a two-year review, concluded last month that Japan’s plan meets international safety standards and would have “negligible” radiological impact on people and the environment. However, the international community is still apprehensive on the potential risks. For the purposes of the debate, the affair is referred to as the "Fukushima water release."
